CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (and where to get them)

CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES (and where to get them)

Oh gosh, I really love the smell of cookies in the oven. If there was a scented candle that's like cookies in the oven, sign me up!

These chocolate chip cookies are the quickest thing to bake when you're craving for baked goods but you don't want to buy grocery store/packaged cookies. There's just something about home-baked food that I prefer more than anything bought outside.

What's good about this is that the dough can be kept in the freezer in a tight-lock container up to 2 months! While the baked cookies can be kept chilled up to 1 week, or when everyone in the house ate everything already, whichever comes first ;)

There are also many ways to play with the ingredients. One trick is to brown the butter in a sauce pan by melting it on low heat, swirling it around the pan until the smell of nutty aroma comes dashing across the room. More about that next time! Anyway, all I can say is that cookies are the best!

Another important note is to place them 2 inches apart on a non-stick mat, round them into a ball or use an ice cream scooper to make your life easier. They usually bake for about 9 minutes for a chewy bite, 10-11 minutes for crunchy cookies.

It's always so satisfying to see the cookie dough come together, and then organize them on the tray, then throw them in the oven. Once they're in, you just watch them melt from cookie dough balls, to these chunky golden cookies. Open the oven, ahhhhhhhhh.... Delicious aroma!

Patience, dear. These baked cookies have to rest on a cooling rack before consuming them. Resting period helps the cookies retain its form, rather than grabbing them right away then breaking its shape.
